Gluten Free Hot Cocoa

Real hot chocolate made with great chocolate is a dessert unto itself. Make it even richer by replacing some or all of the milk with half & half.



  • 4 tsp SCHARFFEN BERGER Unsweetened Natural Cocoa Powder
  • 3 tsp sugar, or more to taste
  • 1 cup milk
  • Whipped cream or marshmallow for topping (optional)


    1. In a small, heavy saucepan, mix the cocoa and sugar with about a tablespoon of the milk to make a smooth paste. Stir in the rest of the milk and cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until hot but not boiling. Serve immediately, or let cool and refrigerate: reheat before serving.
