This Dark Chocolate-Covered Matzo with Kosher Salt recipe is so tasty that you will want to enjoy it year-round not just at Passover.
Ingredients
2-3 Sheets | Matzo |
3/4 cup | butter |
1/4 cup | sugar |
6 ozs | Scharffen Berger 70% Bittersweet Dark Chocolate Baking Bar chopped or Scharffen Berger 70% Bittersweet Dark Chocolate Baking Chunks |
Kosher Salt (optional) |
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 400° F
- Cover a large baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Layer the matzo on the baking sheet using as many whole matzo sheets as will fit. You can fill in with smaller pieces
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter and the sugar together and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Pour the butter mixture over the matzo.
- Put the baking sheet in the oven and bake for three minutes.
- Take out of oven and put chocolate pieces over the matzo and let melt. Spread with a wooden spoon as needed.
- Put the pan in the freezer overnight or until the chocolate sets.
- Take out of freezer, sprinkle with Kosher Salt and break into pieces.
